How soon can I start physical therapy?

In most cases, we can schedule your first visit within 24–48 hours. Because North Carolina allows direct access, you don’t need to wait on a referral or prescription to get started. 📞 Call or text (336) 271-6677 to schedule your visit.

Do I need a referral or prescription to start physical therapy?

You can schedule an appointment at LeBauer Physical Therapy directly — a prescription or referral is not required to get started.

Quick access to your physical therapist often makes the difference between a short-term issue and a long-standing problem. Getting evaluated early allows us to address movement restrictions, strength deficits, and compensation patterns before they become chronic.

Most patients are seen the same day or within 24–48 hours, so you don’t have to wait weeks for answers or treatment.

We encourage you to reach out as soon as:

You experience an injury or flare-up

Something feels “off” during training or daily activity

You’re worried an upcoming event or workout will be limited

You’re tired of waiting for pain or stiffness to go away on its own

Early evaluation leads to better outcomes — and helps you get back to moving with confidence sooner.

What happens during my first visit?

Every patient is treated as a unique individual — not just a body part or diagnosis. Your first visit focuses on understanding what’s really going on, why it matters to you, and how we can help you move forward.

Your initial session typically includes:

A full-body movement and mobility assessment

Identifying the root cause of pain, stiffness, or limitation

Hands-on treatment as appropriate

A clear plan tailored to your goals and activity level

While physical therapy isn’t a “quick fix,” many people notice meaningful changes within the first few visits. Most patients experience clear progress within 3–5 sessions, though continued work is often needed even after symptoms improve. Our goal is not just relief — it’s helping you become stronger, more resilient, and less likely to deal with the same issue again.

Because every person’s situation is different, the exact number of visits varies. Many patients are seen about once per week for several weeks. This is why we offer a Total Body Diagnostic Exam — so you can understand what’s happening, what it will take to address it, and decide how you want to move forward before committing.

What is physical therapy and how can it help me?

At LeBauer Physical Therapy, physical therapy is a hands-on, one-on-one clinical approach to help your body move better, strengthen key movement systems, and improve function for daily life or activity. We assess movement, stability, strength, and mechanics — then build a personalized plan focused on restoring balanced movement and preventing recurrence of pain or limitations.

Can I benefit from physical therapy if I’m not “in pain”?

Yes! Physical therapy isn’t just for pain. We help people improve movement efficiency, increase strength, restore mobility, enhance athletic performance, and address long-standing movement limitations — even when pain isn’t the primary concern.

Will I have to stop training, running, lifting, or competing?

Our focus is on helping you modify intelligently and continue training in a way that supports your goals. We rarely tell people to stop; instead, we adjust workouts and movement patterns so you can keep progressing without creating setbacks.

How many treatments will I need?

Each person responds differently — many clients begin noticing movement benefits in the first few sessions, but a full plan is tailored to your goals and tissue adaptation. Your clinician will discuss a recommended course of care based on your initial evaluation.

What should I wear?

For physical therapy visits to our Greensboro, NC clinic, it is important to have access to visibly examine, palpate and treat your body, muscles and tissues directly. Please bring with you a pair of loose comfortable shorts and female patients should bring a sleeveless shirt, tank top, or swim suit top to change into when you arrive.

What is SoftWave® Shockwave Therapy and how does it fit into Physical Therapy?

SoftWave® Shockwave Therapy is an advanced acoustic wave treatment we use to support deeper tissue responsiveness and functional recovery. It’s integrated into your broader physical therapy plan — not used in isolation — to help your body adapt more efficiently and restore movement quality.

What is dry needling and when is it used?

Intramuscular or Trigger Point Dry Needling uses fine, sterile needles to release muscle trigger points and improve mobility. We use it as part of a comprehensive clinical plan when muscle tightness, compensation patterns, or movement restrictions are limiting performance, flexibility or recovery.

Can I get a Good Faith Estimate?

If you do not have health insurance or plan to self-pay for our services and do not plan to file a claim with your insurance, we will provide you with a "Good Faith Estimate" of our costs when you schedule at least 3 days in advance. If you would like to request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling, please call our office or email us at [email protected]
